About Us

Music Artist Bobby O currently has two projects he performs in - the original music recording and concert project “Skeletons Among the Mangos“, and the cover band project “Screaming Noteheads”.

Bobby O began his music career at the age of 15 in the 60’s when he played guitar for the house band at nightclub “Jack O’ Diamonds” in Palmdale CA, where Country Music Artists, such as Merle Haggard, Glen Campbell and a host of others, would stop to play on their way from The Palomino Club, in North Hollywood to Bakersfield’s Country Music Clubs. Eventually, being influenced to play Blues by local bands in Lancaster area, such as Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band and Frank Zappa and the Blackouts, he started playing the music of Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin.

Along the way he also studied Classical Guitar and music composition at California Institute of the Arts (Cal Arts) and then began working in the Hollywood/Burbank studios. He also was in the first wave of LA Punk, in a Band called Los Dudes performing at all the Punk Palaces in LA. They had an album release on Reptile Records before breaking up. Bobby O was then signed to D-Town Records in the late 70’s and early 80’s, as Artist and studio musician releasing two singles and playing on several artists and bands recordings.

Late 80’s and 90’s he then started Bobby O and the Motorpsychos and then The Bobby O Band which became the next projects, recording and touring all over. Now he splits his time recording his original music and doing shows with Skeletons Among The Mangos, and playing with his cover band Screaming Noteheads, where he does a variety of his favorite Classics from Rock, Country, R&B  Funk, Soul, Latin Jazz, and Dance Music.
